Voting is open only to people who submitted a deviation to the challenge!

Each entry has been assigned an "Express Yourself Number" (referred to as EY#) - due to the low number of entries this time around, please send me a note with the EY# of your your choice for first place in the beginner section and your first place choice in the experienced section. Winners will have their entries added to our gallery shortly after the voting period ends.

CHALLENGE RULES

Your entry should fit the theme Aloft.
The challenge is open to any member of deviantArt.
We accept any non-animated visual works.
Your entry does NOT have to be a new deviation.

DEADLINE

The deadline to submit an entry to this challenge is July 31.

LEVELS

There will be two challenge levels - beginner and experienced.

This is to allow artists who are less experienced in their chosen medium to be judged separately from those artists who are more experienced and/or skilled in their chosen medium.

Whatever level you enter is completely up to you! If you don't indicate which level you are entering, your submission will be placed in the experienced level.

VOTING PERIOD

At the end of the challenge a one-week voting period will be announced in our journal. The voting period will be announced ONLY in our journal so be sure to check back here after the deadline!

Everyone who submits an entry to the challenge is REQUIRED to vote. These are the only votes that will be accepted.

If you enter, but do NOT vote, then your entry will be disqualified from the challenge.

CHALLENGE RESULTS

At the end of the voting period I will tally the votes. The two deviations in the beginner level and the two deviations in the experienced level with the most votes will be declared the "winners" and be uploaded to our gallery.

The deviation with the most votes overall will be displayed as our featured deviation until the end of the next challenge.

(If you are unsure what I mean, look at these galleries for examples in a variety of media where subtle textures enhance their works: *kayceeus, *Leonidafremov, =sheispretty, `annejulie, *Mollinda and *faboarts to name just a few.
