Definitions of these terms should really go without saying, but since we keep getting asked...

BEGINNER
New to a particular style and learning the fundamentals.

INTERMEDIATE
Mastered the fundamentals and working to learn the more complex skills of a particular style.

ADVANCED
Mastered a good portion of the more complex skills of a particular style.

STOCK
Images that are provided to the public under various terms and conditions of use.

NON-COMPETITIVE
For those who do not wish to compete, but want to participate and get some exposure. Judges and Admins are also welcome to submit to this division.

NOTE: No winner will be declared and therefore no prizes will be awarded to this division; however, if the Judges feel that your submission is truly exceptional we may ask you if we may submit it to our gallery.

Which division you wish to enter is a choice that it entirely up to YOU. These definitions do not necessarily reflect what types of deviations will be entered into a specific category - for example, just because someone's deviation would fall into the beginner division by definition absolutely does not bar them from submitting their deviation into the advanced division (if that is where they feel it is appropriate to compete). Likewise, just because someone's deviation might be considered intermediate by definition, does not bar them from entering it into the beginner division if that is where they feel it is appropriate to compete.

These are merely definitions of the terms used to create the divisions and are by no means requirements for the submissions you enter into the contests. As previously stated, you may choose to submit your entry in whichever division you feel most comfortable competing.
